Disclaimer: This is the first we've seen of internet since Egypt and wanted to get some pictures up, but since we're in Paris for only a couple of days, don't want to spend a long time sitting at the internet cafe, so we apologize but this will be the abridged version of things. We are posting pictures as well, so at least that part will whet your appetites!
First, to finish up our adventures and misadventures in Egypt...
Our second day in Luxor was really amazing. We loved the Temple of Karnak and also the Luxor Temple. We had a full day of seeing really interesting things that we're in the process of trying to post pictures about right now, so hold that thought!
And, back in Cairo, the Citadel of Salah al-Din (Saladin) was one of the coolest religious structures (it's a huge mosque) that we have seen. We also went back to the Egyptian museum in Cairo and spent a few hours looking at the artifacts there, until we just couldn't process seeing one more cool thing. Really. System overload. We went to the sound and light show at the Sphinx/Giza Pyramids and really enjoyed it. It was beautiful and we got to listen to an oral history of sorts about the pyramids, the pharaohs, and many of those who came in contact with them. We had a yummy meal in a restaurant by our hotel, Natalie and Jeremy shared another shisha (hookah of flavored tobacco), and we enjoyed our last evening together in Cairo.
Israel
Oh, so the internet cafe is closing in 7 minutes. Wish we would have known that before Jeremy re-sized all those pictures to post on the blog! Oh well, we'll have to tell you all about Israel in our next post.
And, Paris.
So, off we go into the Paris night...
